This is a blog post where I give you the synopsis of "Hum Aapke Hain Koun.". The film, in case you are not aware, was made in 1994 and starred Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor and Aamir Khan among others. It was directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya with music by Nadeem-Shravan. The film went on to become one of the biggest blockbuster hits of all time in India grossing over ₹1billion domestic Indian rupees at the box office. The story is about two brothers, Prem (Salman Khan) and Rama (Aamir Khan), who are forced apart by circumstances. The film shows their individual lives, love stories, marriages and finally how the brothers are reunited by the elder brother's son. Prem lives with his stepmother Ratna (Seema Deo) and her two sons, Raghu (Armaan Kohli) and Shivu (Salil Ankola). Prem's father has died in a plane crash leaving Ratna to marry her cousin Hiralal. Prem is engaged to Pooja (Karisma Kapoor). Prem goes to Mumbai for higher studies where he meets with Rama who is also studying at the same place. Rama wants to be an actor and lives with his brother, Rajesh (Vinod Khanna), who is married to Pushpa (Tina Saheba) and has two children, Nisha (Madhuri Dixit) and Pankaj (Master Aditya). Rama falls in love with Nisha, but she does not reciprocate. Prem meets Nisha at his engagement party; they both fall in love. Rama realizes that he cannot be happy without Nisha. He decides to give up acting and stay with Nisha. Meanwhile, Ratna unites Prem and Pooja because her own daughter died young. Pooja tells Prem that she is pregnant with another man's child. Prem is shattered and Ratna arranges his engagement with Nisha. Prem goes to meet Pooja but finds her abortion clinic. He learns that Pooja had a fling with a man who got her pregnant and she aborted his child. Prem confronts her but she does not give in. Prem decides to marry Nisha despite Ratna's efforts to keep them apart. Nisha listens to Prem's side of the story and decides to marry Prem, making Rama realize that he loves her too much to let her go. At the engagement party, Rama announces that he cannot live without Nisha, who later accepts his love and both get engaged. Prem and Nisha leave for their honeymoon. Rama realizes that he still loves Pooja. He accepts, but warns her that she must give up everything else to be with him. Ratna arranges Prem's marriage with her daughter Reena (Mohnish Behl) who is pregnant with Prem's child. Prem accepts without knowing that it is his own child. Both Prem and Reena are unaware of the truth about the baby, but Ratna informs the family about it during a dinner party hosted by Rama at his home.
